Acres Homes Historical Society
“Reflecting – Preserving – Projecting – Our History”
Since 2010, the Acres Homes Historical Society has worked to document the accurate history, growth and sustainability of the Acres Homes community by providing historical forums, and opportunities for all to bare witness of the Acres Homes community experience. The community was founded in 1910 by African Americans. The Acres Homes Historical Society was founded in 2010.
Our Programs
The Acres Homes Historical Society is a nonprofit 501 © (3) organization that supports four main programs benefiting community residents, along with our efforts to record residents’ experiences and collect historic documents.
Some of our programs include:
- Community Beautification 6th Annual Mother’s Day Flowers & Plants Giveaway
- Community Leadership Development 3rd Annual Recognition Awards
- Cultural Enhancement 14th Annual Juneteenth Parade participants
- Youth Initiative 7th Annual Ambassadors – Dinner /Ballet Outing
